ORTHOPEDIC ENDOWMENTS & THE NEW HOSPITAL BUILDING
Childrens Chain is proud to announce the exciting news that the
$5 million Associates Project for Neuroscience and Imaging Research
has been completed earlier than expected! We have reached this goal
through the outstanding leadership and wonderful, committed volunteers
and the generous support of many friends.
On to our next marvelous and much needed project for the young
patients of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles! The Associate Groups
of the Associates and Affiliates are embarking on a $5 million pledge
for Orthopaedic Endowments and the New Hospital Building.
The Childrens Orthopaedic Center at CHLA is Southern California’s
largest and most comprehensive musculoskeletal care program. The
COC receives on average 20,000 patient visits, and performs over
1,600 surgeries a year. CHLA was recently ranked by Child Magazine
as the 4th leading orthopaedic center in the country. (The only
one west of Philadelphia to be named.) The COC is dedicated to helping
children and adolescents with spine, bone or joint conditions regain
full physical function.
The COC is so influential it has changed the way pediatric orthopaedics
is practiced and is internationally recognized for spinal deformity,
clinical care and research.
The sixth floor of the New Hospital Building will house an inpatient
rehabilitation unit with a fully equipped physical and occupational
therapy facility and a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy room named
for the Associates.
Today, Childrens Hospital Los Angeles provides a level of help and
healing its founders in 1901 would have considered miraculous.
We know you will join us as we embark on this incredible effort.
Childrens Chain extends to you our heartfelt thanks on behalf of
the children, teens and their families whose care and hope you make
possible.
